Biography

Shabnam is a multidisciplinary artist & a Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy- HiCAT Practitioner from Pakistan, based in UAE, creating her own unique signature in her work.

 

She enjoys experimenting with various mediums; such as oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal each offering her a tool to express her visual imagery. 

 

An avid believer of independence in all aspects of ones’ life including her art processes. Her paintings act as a compass that propels her to discover what is truly essential and meaningful in life. She is highly inspired by the ever changing energies surrounding us. It is her inner connection with the creative source combined with her intuition and the intentional capacity that she has built up her artistic practice during these past years and have progressed gradually. 

 

Being a multidisciplinary artist, she experiments with various materials in her art to observe its effects on the overall feeling. Her techniques comprise of creating multiple layers of paints on a surface; canvas/ paper/ wood with strong textures and continuously making marks in the process with various tools. Each technique increases the depth in her paintings that reflects a rich story of its own. 

 

Shabnam has been showcasing her works at art fairs and group exhibitions at various platforms such as ‘ArtExpo’ New York, ‘World Art Dubai’, ‘Index Show’, ‘India Art Festival’, ‘Women In Leadership Economic Forum’ Dubai, ‘Istanbul Art Fair’, ‘English Riviera, UK’ and many more. She enjoys working with differently abled children and has had art events in Dubai and Sharjah with ‘Art for All’ and SNF center & CDC UAE. Her most recent workshop was at Expo 2020 in the Pakistan Pavilion in Dubai-UAE. 

 

She delivers workshops on Art & techniques and Creative Arts including Movement & Therapeutic Arts as a practitioner, to the individuals & in a group setting.

 

As a speaker, she talks on various art topics such as women in art, healing through art, meditation, importance of Creative Arts in our life and has been involved in self-healing through Neurographic & Creative Intuitive Arts.

 

She hopes that her art stirs the imagination in the viewer and offers a source of comfort and healing.
