As a HiCAT practitioner, I have a deep understanding of adapting a holistic approach in all areas of my life, such as creating my artworks, managing relationships, attaining goals and self- healing. 

Regardless of how powerful tool it is many of us are still unaware of this approach towards life. So I wanted to give you a little information on this here, which I hope will give some clarity.

Holistic approach means to consider the person as a whole that is body, mind, soul, and emotions. This also means that understanding a bigger picture and not parts of it. For example physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person are not to be considered separately rather to be treated as a whole.

Holistic Creative Arts Therapy has various modalities. Few are; Visual Arts, Drama, Dance/ Movement, Sculpture/ Sand, Sound, Story Telling, etc. These can be both verbal & non-verbal. Please bear in mind that no prior art study is required to use or participate in Creative Arts Therapy. Sometimes few of these modalities are combined to have an effective session, hence referred to as Integrated Creative Arts Therapy.

The integrative process means that there could be more than one modality that can be used for any intervention while working with the client. This way the individual will have a chance to use the process of self-expression and understanding one’s own journey to self-empowerment while attaining balanced life.

Basic Meditation: 6-week course, 1.5 hours each class 

Goal: 

  • Understand stress, its causes & how to respond to it
  • Choose own meditation style that best suits your needs
  • Increase energy & achieve inner peace & calm
  • Improve your health and practice meditation independently 

 

Self-Improvement & Meditation: 6-week course, 1.5 hours each class 

Goal: 

  • Learn to be positive thinker & manage daily life stressors
  • Attain a meditative stance by various breathing techniques 
  • Train the brain to perform instant relaxation 
  • Feel the possibilities of achieving your goals, gain the confidence in yourself
  • Improve on your self-esteem by developing communication skills  

 

Mindful Movement Meditation: 6-week course, 1.5 hours each class 

Goal:

  • Learn to enjoy, relax and feel an inner connection to physical self
  • Understand the overarching need of mindful movement life & connect within
    • Have an immersive experience to identify form of meditation & practice that brings out tremendous amount of energy/ awareness to bring in positivity
  • Be more confident in self-expression through movement  
  • Create an expressive artwork in sessions

 

‘CreaTeens’: 6-week course, 1.5 hours each class (Summers)

Goal:

  • Rediscover creative potential and explore the possibilities 
  • Learn to think out of the box in daily routine life
  • Immerse in the creative process and find solutions 
  • Learn art techniques & gain more confidence in hands on artistic process
  • Enjoy in a fun group setting
  • Create an artwork using various mediums & tools

Please note: No prior Art experience required to participate in above sessions.
